Herkimer Diamonds are considered the most powerful of all the Quartz crystals, and their shape is said to give them enhanced properties. Herkimer Diamond is the name given to a type of Quartz found only in Herkimer, New York. Naturally double-terminated and beautifully fascinating, Herkimer Diamonds are over 500 million years old. They often contain black inclusions, called anthraxolite, which is decayed plant matter from the time of the crystal’s formation. Orange/red inclusions are due to the presence of iron.
